The Upstairs Gallery has been running since 2007, and has featured in many publications since its beginning. A passion from its owner, the gallery has been in development for over 12 years, with knowledge of the media and PR, it has grown to win seven awards, including Pride in the Community, Suffolk County Council and Waveney Chamber of Commerce – Growth and Redevelopment, and Barclays Trading Places Top 100 business.

The ethos of the gallery is to allow all artists to participate in exhibiting their work, artist can display their works commission free, which means they can take 100% sales, to allow them maximum revenue for their skills and development. Student, emerging, established and professional artists can apply, giving the viewer a variety of choice and the flexibility with revenue to select their choice, prices reflect accordingly.
Many galleries charge a commission of 30 – 65% on top of the sale to the artist, therefore art can be very expensive to purchase, both to the artist and the buyer.
We do also have a selection of commissioned artists available, as this is the way the artist prefers to work with the gallery, and their work is of interest to our buyers - limited spaces.

Our artists and craft-makers here in our large 15 roomed arts gallery do rotate every month so please do be aware that if you like works by a particular artist, you are able to purchase and take with you today.
