The Upstairs Gallery offers rental art-space to all artists resident in the UK.
Our ethos is support all practising, working and established artists by offering economical display space with big-value rewards. we staff and manage the gallery space, work with media publications, and promote your work to varying arts media and clients.
How to exhibit

The Upstairs Gallery is based on 1st and 2nd floors of Lloyds Bank, in the central area of Beccles, opposite the very popular Twyfords Café and Patisserie.
Beccles is a busy market town, as we have a variety of outlets that are unique, some wonderful shopping facilities, and a thriving tourism industry as we are on the tip of the southern broads. Many people visit Beccles year after year. A loading bay operates just in front of the gallery premises, and this is where all the mystery shop tours from all over the UK, drops visitors off to visit our lovely town.
Craftsmakers
Per shelf can be rented at £5.00 per week. This is for one shelving space only, on a first come first reserve basis only.
Yearly artists
IF YOU BOOK YEARLY - a substantial discount is given for those that wish to exhibit throughout the year. This has proven to be very popular with our artists, as they can see the fluctuation in their business of sales, and timed press releases.
Your works will be published on our website for the duration of your exhibition.

Monthly Artists
We reserve space on our site for year long exhibitors. If our volunteers are available we will do our utmost to publish your work on our site, however this is no guarantee for inclusion.

Ballygate and Hungate galleries
There are two rental art-space rooms in the gallery reserved for monthly bookings, and these are offered at very low fees. We are voluntary led arts gallery and have very low overheads.
Prices are based on spaces at 2ft/3ft/4ft/5ft/6ft/7ft/8ft/11ft all at 6ft in height.
2ft width by 6ft height is £12.00. The price then progresses to £2.00 per foot.
Example 3ft is £14.00, 4ft is £16.00 etc.
All prices are per week.
All other galleried rooms are reserved for our yearly artists from 2015.
Work is displayed during opening hours of the shop which are 10 – 4.30 Monday to Saturday.
The Gallery is closed WEDNESDAYS, and some SUNDAYS
The gallery staff deal with all clientele, there are 14 volunteers, and a gallery manager and team to supervise.
Main Gallery Rental
£115 per week - each exhibition is limited to one month only. (This is to prevent block booking.)
This is a listing of the headings we send your solo feed to.
You will be on our website just before the opening of your exhibition.
Your works will be published on our website for the duration of your exhibition.
Your work will be featured in timed releases on our social media pages, and on the header of our facebook site.

If you require an open evening for your event, this is for your clients, friends and family. We do not provide clients for this event. We require a list of 30 attendees for your events evening, as we have to provide evening staff, and this is not included in the rental costs.
We do provide glasses and soft refreshments. The artist is required to provide alcoholic beverages and and food requirements.
The open evenings at The Upstairs Gallery run from 6.30pm - 8.30pm.
Our clients are all informed about your exhibition, and experience has let us know that they attend when they are able.

Please Note:
No commission taken by The Upstairs Gallery or its volunteers (unless by mutual arrangement). Sales by cash or cheque via the gallery space are handled by the gallery volunteers. No money is held on the premises overnight.
