I enjoy making art work from found materials collected on walks and on the beach. Incorporating textiles, paper and card with paint allows me to experiment with texture and colour. Inspiration comes from landscape, objects, shapes and colours in the world around me attempting to capture some of the essence of the subject rather than just simply paint what is seen.

I usually paint with acrylics but also use pastel, ink and emulsion.

Much of the work is abstract or semi abstract. I have done some Fine Art training, mostly short courses and evening classes but I am largely self taught.

Having worked as at teacher for more than 25 years I recently retired which allows me to concentrate on painting, exploring different techniques and mediums.
