Leah Hinks work reflects her keen interest in the natural world, particularly the marine environment. Strips of porcelain are wrapped and layered like the structure of a shell, while the contrast of acqueous blues with the whiteness of porcelain – with a glint of lustre – perfectly captures the colours of the sea. Another significant feature of her work is the sound made by her jewellery: the individual elements of each piece being designed to whisper and chime as they brush against each other.
